Stumped. Thinking of doing a road trip with my wife and 15 year old boy. Where can we stay that will be both fun for the boy and charming for the wife? Teens ain't easy to satisfy. Thanks.

Plenty for everyone in Boston but you might try Portland, Maine. Minor league baseball, good restaurnats, lots of water-centric activities. A mix of choices for all. Beaches nearby.

How can you be stumped? Go the mountains. Go the ocean. Hang out in Boston. Hang out in Burlington. Go sailing on Lake Champlain. Eat lobster at some lobster pound in Maine. Go to Acadia National Park. Lots of minor league ball parks. Hike to the top of Mt Katahdin or Mt Washington.

Get your son's input. Have him do some research. Your wife too! :)

Just North of Boston is Salem, home of the Salem Witch Trials. Lot's of pirate museums and Witch museums along with some decent historical sites as well. Portland is also a great town.

I would suggest pointing your son to Frommers.com or other travel sites and have him do the research.

Well, there are a few amusement parks around southern NE - my old favorite - oldest continuously operated park in the country - Lake Compounce in Bristol Ct (also nearby see ESPN) http://www.lakecompounce.com/ and up I 91 into MA is the old Riverside (now 6 Flags New England) http://www.sixflags.com/newEngland/index.aspx.
