Hi all - I'm looking into a roundtrip to Seoul departing from Toronto in mid-July returning about 4-5 weeks later. I've never taken Korean Air. Any tips with regards to booking, seat assignment, food onboard, etc, greatly appreciated. Thx.

If it's any help, I have posted a trip report on my journey from BKK to ICN and continuing on to SFO in early April. Click on "Community" at the top of this page then "Trip Reports" and you should be able to find it. Sorry, but I don't know how to post a link in here!
Another poster indicated that he had similar experiences to mine flying BOM - ICN - YVR just a few days prior to my trip, even having the same menu as I did from ICN to YVR. (He said the tenderloin main was excellent.) I hope this helps your decision-making process.
For me, I found Korean Air to have a very fine product, comfortable seats, and excellent food and service. It was a great experience and I highly recommend it.

What class of service? I only have experience with KE in F and C; in these classes KE seems to have good food and service, although their Western food is much better than their Korean food.
Overall I think OZ is better, but KE isn't a bad carrier, and as far as Skyteam is concerned I think KE is one of the best carriers in the alliance.
KE's website and seat selection online are significantly better than OZ. I've never been able to select a seat on OZ from their website and I've always had to call OZ for seat selection whereas I haven't had any IT issues with KE.

I beg to differ - I find Korean Air's website to be one of the worst in the industry. And God help you if you try to use any Skypass miles you've earned - especially toward a flight on another Skyteam carrier. They're basically useless.
I enjoyed flying on Korean Air (YYZ - ICN - YYZ), liked the nice new 777s, enjoyed the seats in Prestige class, loved the in-flight service, FAs and food. But I prefer to travel on AC - it's just so much less hassle.
My next ICN trip is on UA ... let's see what that's like.

Agreed! BIG :td: to KE and SKYPASS although it's my homeland carrier. I avoid them as much as possible... not to mention skyteam airlines.

My vote for that title goes to: www.flyasiana.com. Esp. the English page. It looks like it was written by a kindergartener. Probably written by some guy that doesn't speak a word of English who got a 950 on the TOEIC by going to a dozen hagwons.

With the OZ site, that's gotta be how it was constructed. It used to be worse and awhile ago I had to use babelfish to translate the Korean site as the "English".
