I'm walking in the local "Power Walk for Dress for Success," on Saturday, May 7. It's a 5k walk, and considering that I've not done one of these since I was in college, I'll start with a walk, not a run. :)
I wasn't going to participate, but with my volunteer role with the organization, I was "encouraged" to take part. :D So, rather than go to MCI BBQ DO VI for the weekend, I'm walking!
The website, if you'd like to read more about it, is www.dfspowerwalk.org.
They started this last year, as a health and wellness initiative, just in NYC, and this year, several locations are participating, with all money raised going to help fund their programs.
My company is doing an in-kind sponsorship--we're donating printing (even though that's not what we do), and they'll list us as a kilometer sponsor, with our logo on each kilometer sign. :)
Wish me luck, and that my knee and ankles hold out for it! :)
