Flying RJ's between hubs? Doesn't make a lot of sense.

From PIT to

Planes will fly from Pittsburgh to Albany, N.Y.; Atlanta; Boston; Nashville, Tenn.; Newark, N.J.; and Syracuse, N.Y.

From PHL to

Kansas City, Mo., and Syracuse.

Does not mention that they will be flying between PHL and PIT.

Looks like some sort of demo website, at the bottom the fantasy is as follows

MidAtlantic Airways announces new service to/from San Francisco and
Washington Reagan National Airport.

How'd you like to do that in an RJ http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

I was curious, so I looked up the domain registration on "whois"

The domain 'midatlantic-airways.com' belongs to Imp LTD in Zurich Switzerland. It was registered in June of 2003. It could be a cybersquatter or maybe that is where "the" programmer is http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

Yet another example of an IT job that's been outsourced out of the US. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

A "Mileage Run"... is that what they're called? I've been doing them for years and didn't know they had a name.

Kinda funny...maybe. Pick up on the name of the frequent flyer program that's (hopefully) in jest?

A-Plus!!! Maybe this whole Usair/Mid-Atlantic has been a cruel joke. Airtran is the new Usair! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/eek.gif

Peace

The website seems related to AirTran. For example, "The Business Class any Business Can Afford" (on the bottom) is a slogan of AirTran, and they recently began service to DCA and SFO. These appeared as news items on the airtran.com homepage recently. The three adds for Hertz, Visa, etc., on the bottom left are similar to ads on the AirTran website. Finally, below the sign-in box, notice "Join A-Plus Rewards," which is, of course, the name of AirTran's frequent flyer program.

Interesting...

Do you think AirTran will change their name to "MidAtlanitc" ?
