Arriving in MIA on 17-April, and then driving to Deerfield Beach. Car rental rates are so high in MIA that it is cheaper to take a cab to FLL to pick up our car there. The MIA website says taxi's are flat rate $72 to FLL airport. Our arrival time is not convenient for using the train.
Are there any other reasonable options for getting a familay of three from MIA to FLL? Thanks.

You might want to check a local/off-airport rental office in Miami, if they're open when you arrive. A cab from MIA to the Coral Gables Hertz (http://www.hertz.com/rentacar/location/index.jsp?targetPage=locationDetailsView.jsp&eoag=MIAW01&city=&state=&zip=&resAgnt=&locType=pUp) office is only about $30, and there's Hertz offices at some hotels near MIA too. You might be able to get a ride to a hotel with the free airport shuttle, get the car there, and go right to Deerfield Beach.
