Has anyone been able to do so?

No, I just tried today. Called the CP line, got the exit row seats, then did the web check in.

Yes, got exit row seats via web-checkin on a PIT->FLL flight (1/29) and a MIA->Pit flight (2/2). I don't have status on US. So, I assume anyone can do it.

You can get exit row seats on US if you put the seat number in the field rather than trying to click on the seat.

mlw3u - it only seems to work sometimes. I was able to grab an exit row seat on one of my segments but on the connecting flight it seemed to work but on my printout I had my original assigned seat again.
