US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-FlightFund Merger) - Earning a Few Miles for a Reward Ticket??

I am trying to advise my sister on how to earn a few last miles so that she and her husband can obtain 2 rewards tickets for a flight from PHL to Nassau in October. Her husband as 55,744 miles. They need 60,000 miles to get the two reward tickets. He is going to Florida two times before the end of April for 3800 miles, which leaves him short about 430 miles. But, they would like to book the reward travel now. So, I am trying to think of ideas for them to earn either the additional 4,250 miles, or the 430 miles. I do realize that they can purchase the add'l miles for $.03 poer mile. Thoughts???? Thanks!

Is he aware that he can get 1000 miles the first time he uses web check in and 100 miles every time after that? Doesn't sound like that is in the 3800 miles for two PHL-Florida RT's.

iDine is another option - have your friend's husband take her to dinner and spend $50 - he will get 500 miles for that.

Make some shopping purchases via dividend miles shopping. Most merchants are 1 mile per $ spent but some earn 2 or 3.
