Flying 2/14 GSO-CLT-LAX and I am GP

US#549
US#47

Called this morning regarding the status of my upgrade requests, got the GSO-CLT, but the agent indicated US#47 was sold out and I would be put on the standby list at check in. I checked through our corpoate travel web site and 3 seats are still showing as available..........what gives?? Any insight as to what I should do?

Thanks

AMEX is showing:

F3 P2 A0 E0 Y0 B0 M0 H0 Q0 V0 W0 S0 T0 L0

Like you say 3 FC seats are available. My understanding is that P (showing 2) is an upgrade bucket from the premium economy fares (ie Y and B) whereas E (showing 0) is discount economy upgrades(ie MHKQVWTSL).

As time goes on, if these seats are not snapped up then inventory will be added to E.

I'd then assume that you have a discount economy ticket. If it were me, I'd check-in early and hope. If you are on a Y or B ring back and try again.

If you are on a discount coach fare the agent is technically correct in what they said (if the E fare bucket is zero). Go early is the best advice AFTER you check-in online from home!

I have been informed on several occasions by phone agents as well as check-in agents that F is "sold out." My upgrade usually clears at the gate (even on A319 & A320 transcons) as long as I do web check-in close to 24 hours in advance. Hopefully your aircraft is an A321.
