If this webpage (http://www.flyintobhx.co.uk/news.html) can be believed, the monopoly of the 3 capitals eurostar service is going to be broken, with Air France/Flybe and SNCF running 3 trains a day between BHX and CDG.
Paris by train - from BHX!
Birmingham Airport is to become the first UK airport to be linked by a rail service direct to Paris CDG from next October 2011.
A new company 'French Connect' which is a joint venture between Air France and SNCF is planning to operate a 3 times daily service from Birmingham International via Stratford International to the TGV station at Paris CDG's Terminal 2.
Tickets on this new service should also be available via the flybe web site as part of their code share arrangement with Air France. Passengers will be able to board/disembark at Stratford International so the airport also gains an important link for next years Olympic Games.
No details of how they'll handle passport control at Birmingham, but if it happens it'll be very interesting, perhaps re-vitalising the regional-eurostar idea.
Far more likely to be an april fools though
