Hi, I got a notice from the Korean Air that my return flight was canceled and that i have to reschedule. They offered me a flight 2 days after the original date. (I got the notice 3 weeks before the return flight, and a week before the departure flight). They did not give me a reason for the cancellation.
Can I claim for a compensation from the airline? There is lots of strain for me to postpone the flight by 2 days.
Thanks for any advice!!

Well, you're lucky that you've got their message. I know lots of people who didn't hear anything from KE or travel agency about flight cancellation.
What route is it? Maybe they have 1 day prior to your original schedule which may work better for you. If you have tight vacation allowance, you may want to change departure date also. I don't think KE will give you any compensation, nor hotel. You may cancel without any penalty, though.
Welcome to Flyertalk, by the way!!

Thanks!
wow.. really, no compensation..
they can just sell non-existing flights, and then reassign people at their convenience, given how many free seat they have. could be a profitable practice. it is a TLV-ICN route, probably not the most popular.

Glad you posted this Anna ^ .. have read about this seemingly recurring KE practice on other blogs too and as stated in # 2.
IMO this info can only be in the best interest of people seduced by KE's cheap fares only to find out just before departure that their vacation went up in smoke and there's nothing reasonably priced left to book :(
Buyer Beware !
Hope you've found other options.

This does happen out of TLV with KE. You can demand a connecting flight to ICN. KE team with AZ for tlv-fco-icn, or with TK for tlv-ist-icn or kl for tlv-ams-icn to mention a few options.

Never heard of KE doing this. Meanwhile, Asiana Airlines was just caught for cancelling two flights due to low load factor and got fined USD10000 roughly. http://news.google.com/news/more?pz=1&cf=all&hl=ko&cf=all&ncl=dOdUp7_vnAYXq2MZg10H9y01o4YqM
