I'll be staying with a friend in Barcelona around late August. Just noticed the Salles Hotel Ciutat del Prat which looks fantastic, especially since my flight will arrive at 7:30pm and it's close to the airport. Good price too, good reviews and nice looking photos.

Only, do they have any twin rooms, or only double beds?

Any other recommendations of good hotels, preferably under about $110 per night (twin room)

Logically I cannot help you on the hotel itself, but I only have this to add: even if you are staying only for 1 night and therefore want to be close to the airport, you should consider going to central Barcelona (only 10 minutes more by taxi or bus). It's probably even easier to get to Barcelona than staying at this hotel, because taxi drivers might refuse to bring you there (especially if you arrive in terminal 2).
If you want to be in Barcelona but relatively close to the airport, look in the Plaça Espanya area.

And 7.30pm is not late at all for Spain, it is still the afternoon... :D

I have enjoyed staying at the Hotel Berna, which is very pleasant and quite centrally located. A taxi to and from the airport should take only about 20 minutes.

As noted above, 7.30pm is not late in Spain: people generally don't start eating dinner till after 9.00pm.

Oh yeah, I forgot those Spaniards are such party-heads!

BTW, any idea what a taxi costs to get to the city centre from the airport?

About 30€ from terminal 1.
