I noticed I'm going to be in Vegas on Free Comic Book Day, and I was curious if there are any recommended comic book stores, hopefully near the strip.

I checked and there are a number of participating stores in the area:

Anyone able to chime in and say if any of these stores are any good?

Quick note: Just be aware that there are areas not too far from the strip that are sketchy. Be mindful of that as you explore.

You should be fine but it's worth saying...

There is a comic book shop in Las Vegas called A Collector's Menagerie (I know it's a odd name for a comic book shop). It's not on the strip but it's easy to get to from the strip. If you take north 95 to Tonopah it's just off of Lake Mead. Acutely it's on Lake Mead and Tenaya. It would be about 10 minutes from the strip. It's a small shop but the people are nice and they have the best action figure selection.
