I also chose the Castles of the North book, haven't received it yet despite selecting my Passion benefits a few days after they were announced.

Maybe they're planning to send it to me as a Christmas present. :p

You should have received an e-mail to select your "Platinum Passion benefits", anyway it´s not too late, you have until the end of this (or next?) month to choose your four benefits.

Thanks! I never received the e-mail, but was offered to make selections when I logged into fairmont.com.

Any experience booking (e.g., spa treatment) or using these benefits yet? I wanted to book a spa appointment on an upcoming stay and it appears there was some confusion as to what it was and how to book it.

I asked about the Local Food Experience and the Fairmont Orchid front desk attendant had no clue because it was so new. After asking a few managers, the attendant phones me back and said to me to make my selection and they'll have the chef prepare something special.. and apologized for the confusion as the benefits weren't supposed to have been implemented into the hotel system until after May 30th, 2011. However, they were willing to honor it after some digging.. so I guess until the system is set in place, there is going to be a "feeling out" period with staff and FPC Platinum members.

I haven't selected my benefits yet.. I'm actually leaning towards volunteering at a charity for both my wife and I profiles.. that will give my wife 4 stay credits and almost Premier membership next year.
