Anyone here cashed in points for hotel certificates such as:
Hyatt Hotels and Resorts Elite Stay--3 Nights 30,000 points?

There are some restrictions and not all hotels participate but I was wondering if anyone had done so and if they had any problems using them.

My renewal fee is do soon and I'm pondering transferring my remaining points and may use some for a certificate or two if they are useful. I'll probably transfer the rest of the points to either BA (with the 50% bonus) or Aeroplan which has pretty generous airline ticket awards on Star Alliance airlines.

Thanks.

I believe these are exactly the same certificates offered here:

https://www.certificates.hyatt.com/products/CertsStay.aspx

...and you should be able to ask about them in the Gold Passport section of Flyertalk. Buying them with points rather than money shouldn't affect redemption.

Thanks. I'll probably call up Diners to see if they have any other info. Some things in the redemption list don't make sense such as:

Item Name Hyatt Hotels and Resorts Elite Stay--3 Nights
Item Number 6980h
Points 30,000

Versus

Item Name Hyatt Hotels and Resorts Elite Stay--1 Night
Item Number 6979h
Points 30,000

1 night stay is the same cost as 3-nights? Everything else seemed identical.

When deciding, don't forget to compare these to the option to transfer DC points to GP. Also, one can trade DC on Coupon Connection for GP for a better rate of return.
