Let me tell you it's hard to corral those CLT area folks ... I tried three or four times when I was there and managed to meet a total of three of them (and one of them has never even posted to the board as far as I know, he hadn't when I met him and I don't believe he has since). http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

I've been able to hook up with svpii on most of my trips. We work for the same company.

Of course, I hope things don't get too crazy there in CLT that night after the Panthers win the Superbowl ...

la2clt also works for the same company, and he's the second of the three FT'ers I've managed to meet besides svpii (and like I said, the third that came to a little, very little, get together has never posted so he doesn't even have a handle).

Just to clarify, I mean CLT based FT'ers ... I've met literally 100's of FT'ers in all ...

We got together in March, July, and October. I've posted the trips before in Community, but never got any takers in CLT. Have had good luck elsewhere, though.

AZ_MISMAN: Would love to join y'all, but (in what must be a conspiracy on my part since I'm never here for these Charlotte gatherings) I'll be in the D.C. area watching my Blue Devils play Georgetown on the 24th.

Beckles - the Panthers' win (knock on wood) will be on Feb. 1 (this is one of those years where the Super Bowl is two weeks after the conference championship games).

I thought they weren't going to do the two weeks between Conference Championships and Superbowls anymore, but guess they changed their minds ... again ...

I will be there. I'm starting to think that Beckles and I are the only FTers here. CLT flyer only claims to live here.

If Beckles is in town that day, we can help him decide where to go with the SPG coupon he won from Geo.

Oh, I'll actually be here on the 25th - at dinnertime, as opposed to brunch time. And while I'm not free for dinner on he 26th, I am on the 27th and 28th - AZ_MISMAN, let me know what works for you, and maybe we can pull a group together.

I love the "claims to live here" - I need to remember that on my commute down Randolph Rd./4th Street this morning. It's worse, not only do I live here, I even work for local government.

Ah yes, to allow the hype to grow unfettered.
The one week between conference championships and the Super Bowl makes for a better game - but as Keith Olberman once put it, "The Super Bowl is a brand name, not an adjective."

A little premature don't you think http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif...the road to the Super Bowl goes through Philadelphia, and the Panthers' road to the Super Bowl comes to a dead end there as well...

The Eagles are a very consistent team ... I have no doubt they will follow the pattern of the past two years and lose the NFC Championship game again this year ...
