This December I will be traveling with a friend to Cambodia. The flights we are going to book involve a 12 hour layover at ICN. Our other option was a 1 hour layover which makes me a bit nervous and it still gets us in at the same time.

That said we are up for an adventure and would like to make the most out of our 12 hours. We land at 0700 and take off at 1930 I believe.

We would normally take the train to downtown and explore for a few hours, but realized it is going to be COLD!!!Since our final destination will be warm we definitely do not want to pack warm jackets just for this.

The airport transit tours say they provide jackets. Is this still the case? Are these tours worth it? We normally don't enjoy structured tours like this, but do not want to sit around for 12 hours, especially since we have a 9 hour layover coming home.

Any advice would be appreciated!

I would book the 1 hour connection. ICN is a breeze, and if they do misconnect you will be taken care of very well

Yeah, I've heard it wouldn't be a problem. My thinking is that I'd rather leave on the 12:30AM flight and sleep most of the flight. Then when we land in ICN it will be early AM. The other one takes off from LAX at 11:00am. Which means I won't be as tired for the long flight.

If the shorter layover got me into my final destination a lot sooner I'd definitely do that, but it doesn't.
