US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-FlightFund Merger) - refundsView Full Version : refunds RUTHIE18 Jan 14, 04, 5:30 pm hi new to this so bear with me. got a ? does us airways give everyone the run around. i cancelled my us airways vacation about a month ago and try to track down my refund. but all i get is a big run around gardener Jan 14, 04, 9:20 pm Here are the T&C's from the website: What if a reservation needs to be changed or cancelled? No refunds will be made for missed or unused flights or for any cancellation made less than 48 hours prior to the day of your departure. Revisions may not be made 3 business days (7 for Europe) or less prior to departure. The following penalties apply for changed and/or cancelled reservations: All cancellations or reductions in the number of your party, which are received by US Airways Vacations 46 or more days prior to departure, will result in a $49 per person cancellation fee for domestic and Canada travel; $69 per person for travel to the Caribbean, Bermuda and Mexico and $89 per person for travel to Europe plus any applicable hotel or airline charges. All cancellations (including name changes) or reductions in the number of your party 45 - 2 days prior to departure will result in a $125 per-person cancellation fee for domestic and Canada travel; $125 per-person for travel to the Caribbean, Bermuda and Mexico and $200 per-person for travel to Europe. These charges will be deducted directly from the refund applied to your credit card. All other changes will result in a $25 per-reservation revision fee, fare increases and applicable suppliers' charges. In addition to US Airways Vacations fees, an airline charge of $125 per person for domestic U.S. and Canada; $200 per person for Europe; and $150 for the Caribbean, Bermuda and Mexico; where applicable, will be assessed for cancellations received after the issuance of tickets and for revisions resulting the reissuance of tickets when traveling on US Airways mainline. Revisions consist of return date changes, origin or destination changes, or when an alternate flight is being used. Before new documents can be mailed to you, old documents must be returned to US Airways Vacations. Once any portion of the vacation has been used, the unused features (including hotel nights but excluding value-added and attraction inclusions), may be refunded less a $25 administrative charge per refund and any applicable charges from the hotel or other suppliers. US Airways Vacations gives you the ability to cancel your reservation on-line. You must enter the correct password and confirmation number to complete the transaction. In order to receive any refund that may be due to you, you must also notify us via e-mail or phone. At that time, you will receive details about applicable penalties and refund amount. If you got the waiver - you should be o.k. (in addition to what's posted above) Here's more on the waiver: http://www.usairwaysvacations.com/terms.asp#protection US Airways Vacations Trip Cancellation Waiver and Post Departure Travel Protection We are pleased to offer the following options for your vacation: Trip Cancellation Waiver - This comprehensive, pre-departure plan, covers trip cancellation prior to departure for any reason. It offers protection against cancellation and supplier fees and guarantees a full refund, excluding the cost of the Trip Cancellation Waiver. Revision fees (US Airways Vacations and suppliers), no-shows, denied boarding situations (when passengers are not allowed on the plane), and increases in per person occupancy rates due to cancellation are not covered. Post Departure Travel Protection - This high-quality travel protection insurance plan, covers you in the event you are prevented from continuing your vacation due to an injury, sickness, death to you, an immediate family member, or a traveling companion. Additional coverage includes, but is not limited to medical expenses due to illness or accident; theft, loss, damage or delay of baggage; assistance with lost tickets or existing conditions. For more information please call CD Benefits, Inc. at 1-800-272-2242. Upon purchase a pamphlet with complete coverage information with be provided with the travel documents. These non-refundable and non-transferable plans must be purchased at the time of booking. Also, I think you may be blaming the wrong party. From the US Airways Vacations website: http://www.usairwaysvacations.com/about/index.asp US Airways Vacations is operated by The Mark Travel Corporation. Through this relationship, US Airways Vacations is a member of United States Tour Operator Association's $1 Million Consumer Protection Plan and the American Society of Travel Agents. US Airways Vacations is a registered trademark of US Airways, Inc. In other words, while it's branded US Airways, they've outsourced the Vacations section - and it looks like US Airways may not have a heck of a lot to do with it. The only suggestion I have is that you keep trying the numbers that US Airways Vacations gave you in the materials they sent after you booked the trip.
