Three of us are flying IAH-LAX-AKL and then SYD-DFW-IAH this December and January. What seats would you recommend? Our daughter is an adult, but she needs to be with us, since she is disabled, but we usually do not like the three-across scenario. Oh, and we are all really tall, so leg room (and cleaner bathrooms) are one reason we opted for (and sprang for) Business class.
Appreciate all suggestions!

Depending on exactly what sort of disability your daughter has, you may want to ensure that you're not assigned seats on the upper deck on the QF7 (your SYD-DFW) leg. Unless you have status however you'd be unlikely to be assigned upstairs.
Downstairs the config is 2-3-2 as you'd probably know and it's really much of a muchness in terms of selection but some do enjoy having the PTV in the armrest in row 23, the first row (PTVs are normally seat back on the 744).
For QF26, an A330-200, row 4 is my choice (row 1 would likely be just as good if not better, but I've not sat there). Galleys are nearby, but I've never found them to be too much of an issue in J.
I have travelled on QF 744s a number of times in groups of three on a single booking and every time have been assigned the centre console of three seats. If you're not keen on this arrangement make sure to preselect.

I found the galley lights really annoying in 4AB on QF25 recently. I assume 4JK would be in the same situation, but 4EF should be okay.
