US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-FlightFund Merger) - Gold to CP

I am a current Gold member and have been for two years now. I notice that if I hit the 25K mark by Sept 1, I get an offer of fly an additional 10K from Sept 15-Dec 15, I can remain gold. Is there a similar promotion for CP members? If so, does that promotion apply only to active CP member to keep them CP members, or does it apply to Gold members to get them to upgrade to CP?

It is actually for both purposes. It got me to Chairman's from Gold, but also kept many Chairman's at their current status. Offer is 20,000 miles or 20 segments in 90 days.

Can someone shed more light on this? I dont understand the promotion since it talks about Sept-Dec (presumably 2004?) yet another poster mentions doing it and its only January 2004..?

Myth tells us that technically this can be done through any 3 months during the year, however, US only promotes it during the last quarter and also to premiers from other airlines. It is honestly up to DM's discretion, Usually from the information i have been able to collect you can only get a DM Service Center surpervisor to get you on the program unless you are targeted, i.e. get the e-mail, letter. Only then will they grant it, that is if you flew enough in the prior year to make them think that it is a "profitable" thing for them. Its all a game folks...
