Printing my BP the night before travelling, I see SQ says I have to be at the airport 90 minutes prior to departure. Is this enforced? It seems a bit excessive for a short flight to KUL, having no luggage. Does SQ enforce this?

I have checked-in for a flight to BWN sometime last year 40-45mins before departure time. But I don't advise that, because technically the flight had closed by then and the agent advised me that I could have been denied boarding but was kind enough to allow me on, and told me to gate check my bag.

I'd be there 60mins before.

They close the checkin counter 45 mins before departure time. To be safe aim to be there 90-60 minutes before departure.

I'd advise 60 mins, although I got caught in a murderous traffic jam and I checked in at SIN T3 F Class with luggage 40 mins before departure a few weeks ago and (just) got away with it.

With no luggage, should be able to do OLCI. I've turned up at checkin counters once about 35 mins before departure (taxi didn't turn up, heavy traffic, police checks on traffic into T2 departures.... you name it). I didn't have luggage, had done OLCI and all I needed was a printout of my BP - and also Plan B was 2.5hrs in lounge and take next flight.

Thanks, gentlemen. I was there abt 60 mins before for this particular flight and there was no issue.

Do they still make you check in at the airport? Twice I have checked in online with no baggage and tried to saunter on to the plane at the airport, and each time I have been offloaded & told that online checkin does not actually check you in, ha ha
