Hi,
Was on a bed-run to complete my "Crack the case" promo. Since I was in Brussels over the weekend, cheapest property available was this location. In general, if there is no reason to be near the Expo area, my advise would be to avoid this property even though I was just doing a check-in/out and quick inspection of the room.
Location: Very good if you want to be near the Expo area. About 10-15 min walk to the nearest metro station. Parking is not free though [but free parking along the road, if you can find a spot].
Check-in: Documents were ready, but weirdly was requested for my PC number. No extra's as an Elite were offered (though I doubt that info was there since I was requested for my PC no.). Lobby area was small and not very inviting, very tired looking in general. Was informed that they were carrying out some renovations on the 3rd floor [but did not see it].
Room: Given a room on the 3rd floor, 2 single bed. Size of the room was a mouse-hole, hardly an space to walk/maneuver. Very basic, a small tv on the wall and that was all. Since I did not use it but looking at the items, again very tired looking.
Bathroom/Toilet: Another small cubicle. Did not use anything there, so not sure if things were working ok. They did have at least those small bottles of shampoo, lotion and shower gel.
Check-out: No problems encountered, but not the most friendly person to encounter nor rude either, just expressionless.
General: Saw that the hotel was used by a large tour group [seems to be a school excursion]. Furthermore for the price paid, do not feel value for money. I know that I had other options which was just a few Euro's more and you were at a better hotel. Breakfast was not incld. and would have cost around 17 Euro's. To me this hotel does not even qualify as a HIX. I only hope that IHG will close this hotel or get it up to some better standards [guess nothing has changed since it was opened except the LCD tv]. By far one of the worst properties that I have encountered.
