Miles & More (Lufthansa, Austrian, Swiss, and other partners) - Possible to earn MM miles flying AV?

Dear FTers,

I am considering flying AV for an upcoming trip to Central America.

I remember (or was I mad?) that the M&M webiste explicitly showed AVIANCA as a partner up until a few months ago, but they no longer do.

Avianca-Taca are one group, and it is possible to earn miles with Taca.

Also, AV's FF website "LifeMiles" lists LH as a partner... :confused:

Anyone with light to shed on this issue?

I am nearly certain that Avianca was never listed as a mileage-earning partner. In any case, they are not listed now, which really is all that needs to be said on the subject.

TACA and Avianca are merging (or have merged? I have not been following this closely), but for the time being they are still operating flights as two different companies, so the TACA link has no bearing on mileage earning.

Perhaps something is in the pipeline, but until the website lists Avianca as a mileage-earning partner, I would operate under the assumption that you'll get no M&M miles for flying with them.
