I noticed that UA and Germania are codesharing partners, and asked the Germania gate agent if it applied to US as well.
She wasn't sure...are they linked as well?

I know the difference. I had a chat with the check in agent regarding the code share.... edsh Nov 7, 03, 8:49 pm Never having heard of Germania before, I browsed their web site. They offered some great intra-Europe fares however some of the translated English expressions sounded a bit awkward: To prevent you from starving, passengers can purchase low priced beverages and snacks on our international flights. After the "fasten your seat belts" signs are extinct, the following devices can be used again... http://www.gexx.de/gexx/makepage.php?seite=29&rsl_lang= en&PAGENT=259997&PDUA=000000000000&PMOP=000000000000&RESERVE=HBE (http://www.gexx.de/gexx/makepage.php?seite=29&rsl_lang=en&PAGENT=259997&PDUA=000000000000&PMOP=000000000000&RESERVE=HBE) [This message has been edited by edsh (edited 11-07-2003).] dcmike Nov 8, 03, 5:53 am That's strange - I don't see them on UA's partners page.... But anyway, typically with airline partners outside of an alliance you will not get milage on that carrier. Since US hasn't even entered into *A yet, we only get miles on UA and LH - since those are the direct agreements. We wouldn't get milage yet on BMI, even though they're part of the *A, until US formally joins. rrz518 Nov 8, 03, 6:17 am <font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Originally posted by edsh: Never having heard of Germania before, I browsed their web site. And, working in Miami, I must admit that although this English is a bit odd, it sure makes more sense than what I hear locally every day, even from the natives. curt Nov 8, 03, 6:59 am <font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Originally posted by rrz518: Yes, it is Germania. UA does not codeshare with Germania. Germania is a german LCC and charter operator without any codeshares. |
