US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-FlightFund Merger) - US Express feeder Midway going to CH. 7View Full Version : US Express feeder Midway going to CH. 7 rd7242 Oct 30, 03, 9:54 am http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/business/2191862 US Express flights operated by Midway cancelled. Can't be good for US biggs Oct 30, 03, 12:07 pm I anticipated trouble and booked next weeks DCA flight on AA. Too bad for all the people out of work. I guess the pilots stood their ground to the end although Ferguson never was too specific on what the secret investor wanted other than a longer contract term. rd7242 Oct 30, 03, 2:02 pm I have a non-Midway express flight on Sunday. How do I know if my flight is affected: http://www.usair.com/about/press/nw_03_1030.HTM biggs Oct 30, 03, 7:37 pm You should be OK but call US to confirm that your flight is going. Midway was doing mostly the DCA and LGA runs. I think they are going to run Piedmont or some other Express here and it is back to Dash 8s for a while. rd7242 Oct 31, 03, 6:56 am I'm just concerned about the statement that other express carriers will be picking up the slack. Flying LGA-RIC on transstates, and as of now they say i'm ok. <font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Originally posted by biggs: You should be OK but call US to confirm that your flight is going. Our station has 1 clt-xxx-clt rj cancelled on each of those days. I'm sure res has it's hands full rebooking Midway flights, but now has to rebook cancelled express flights that are picking up Midway legs. I started rebooking our customers for these flights today, and I can tell you I saw other flights cancelled in these pnrs, too. Mesa, Piedmont, and if I remember correctly, there was an Allegheny flight "adjusted". Not a lot, but some. One gentleman's flight from our house AND the connecting flight from clt were cancelled. Somewhat off topic, but if you're travelling to one of the small islands with an express connection, it wouldn't hurt to reconfirm these flights too. A gentleman flew out this morning with a connection in sxm to dom. The problem was the Caribbean Sun-Star(?) flight from sxm to dom doesn't operate any more due to a schedule change and Orbitz had booked him sxm-anu with an overnight, then to dom tomorrow morning. There were no other options. Orbitz says it emailed the customer, but he says he didn't get it. Anyway, heads up. Your pal at the ticket counter, atoagt biggs Nov 2, 03, 8:30 pm I just got a phone call saying my Express flight on 11/10 was cancelled. Unfortunately the best that could be done because of all the schedule changes and cut backs is a 3 hour layover and getting in 3 hours later than planned. Needless to say, I am not too pleased right now. I was at the airport this AM and saw it was cancelled today so maybe it is cancelled all week. I haven't checked yet. Skyman Nov 3, 03, 9:29 pm The 11:09AM (5304) RDU-PIT on 05 Nov was cancelled as of 10/31. Rebooked through CLT. It was sad to see Midway finally fold. I used to fly JI quite a bit a few years ago, back when they were at their peak at RDU and I can honestly say that I always enjoyed excellent service from them. I wish their employees the best of luck. [This message has been edited by Skyman (edited 11-03-2003).] geo1005 Nov 4, 03, 2:18 pm This is exactly why I fly US everywhere. Except to DCA where I use AA. biggs Nov 4, 03, 7:07 pm The prodigal son has returned! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif Did you qualify for CP through 2005 with your recent trip? |
