Doing a MR to LAS on the current double miles promo I was targeted for. It expires 11/15, so if I take a flight AT 11:55 pm on 11/15 and it returns to NYC at 8 am sunday 11/16, I should get the promoition for the first leg that originated on 11/15 at 11:55 pm--correct?

It just so happens I will be doing the same flights for the same reason. As long as your flight is scheduled for Nov. 15 it will be fine. However, any connections you may have as part of the itn on the 16th will not.

Very cool. I thought so. Hey for 9000 or so miles from NYC to have a little fun for a day (night I guess)...why not?

Me three... I intentionally set my flights for Comdex to leave on Sat 11/15 so I can get the double miles for the flights out. Also, I booked it on UA so I can connect through SFO so I get a few more double miles instead of just going from CLT-LAS (plus the extra 500+ 250 sp bonus for the SFO-LAS segment). Too bad that promo doesn't go through my return on the 17th.

A "Mileage Run"... is that what they're called? I've been doing them for years and didn't know they had a name.

Every double-miles US Airways promo I've seen (including 9631) applies to flights operated by US only. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

But even if you buy the ticket on UA, if you fly it on US metal, the double miles apply. So, I'm flying on US Metal, RDU-CLT-LAS, so those 2 seg's should be 2X miles, according to previous posts. The UA SFO-LAS segment should be 500 miles (plus any status bonus).

Now I wasn't "targeted" per se but a friend got a postcard and I called and they told me to register online. The agents act like theyve never heard of such a thing even when I give them the promo code on the back of the postcard. Should I just wait until a few days after my flights and see if they post and then call up and ask for the double miles?

Has this promo worked for people who were not targeted? What are the details of the promotion (9631)?
Thanks.

Apparently there is some type of check in the system that checks to see if you were targeted. So even if you register online it will not post.
You can try and sweet talk the CP desk.

Are there any other double mile promotions to sign up for? Who was targeted for this promotion anyway?
I am Silver and not targeted. Signed up for the promotion over the phone automatically by entering the code only. Later I talked to a Dividends rep about any Silver or Gold challenge and she advised me that I was already signed. I told her that I was under that impression that 9631 was to quality for Silver status only and she advised that if I get over 10,000 miles it will qualify me for Gold. So it appears that 9631 is for Silver and Gold qualification at the same time (6,000 for S and 10,000 for G.) We'll see what happens after my trip to FRA this month.

So 9631 is for 10K miles between those dates? If I'm a D4 and crack 10K miles during this promo (which will maker me a D3) will they bump me to D2?
