US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-2005 America West merger) - Connecting to/from UA Express at CLT query

Am about to book my 60ish mother to Florida through CLT. Question: Is it fairly easy to connect from United Express to USAirways mainline at CLT? How bad is the walk, and would a 55 minute connection suffice? Just wondering if I should stick to US/US connection.

US is so big in CLT that a US/US connection could be about the same distance as a UA/US connection. It's all connected inside security, so she simply walks from one terminal to the other.

55 minutes should be OK. Go for it.
