Excuse me if I have posted in the incorrect section or there is a similar existing board, but I saw a board in the BA section linking to this site: http://www.thanks-by-flyingblue.com/
Basically, FlyingBlue (the program of Air France and KLM & with many other partners) have a deal on to the end of this month.
If you make a flying blue account, then they are willing to offer you a status match with FlyingBlue and 1,000 miles. http://www.thanks-by-flyingblue.com/pdf/Terms_and_conditions_Flying_Blue_Status_Match_Offe r_EN.pdf See pages 3 and 4 of that PDF for a status conversion. Your current status can't be with any skyteam partner. For example if you are US airways silver, you will get FB silver. United Premier = Flying Blue silver. Continental silv=silv gold=gold plat=plat. AA Gold = FB Silver, Plat=Gold Exec Plat = Plat. (Find the rest on the PDF).
So basically, you would get a status match and 1,000 miles (If aproved).
Now, why am I posting this? If you PM me your e-mail, I can send you an invite and if you get accepted, then I get 2,000 miles.
If you want to participate in this, please e-mail me! What is to lose?
Thanks for your time reading this.

I believe you get the miles after your invitee takes a flight, not just for joining

I just skim read it, but yes you are correct, within 3 months. But I believe the status requires no flights.

I think you could still get a status match, but just not the miles. Unless you think about flying with AF or KLM with in 3 months of your status upgrade. I wonder if it would work on other skyteam members such as Delta, it only claims AF and KLM, I will ask KLM and see what they say!

Any idea how long the matched status would last? Just three months? A year?

Also, is lounge access a benefit when flying international on Delta? On an award ticket? That would really make it worthwhile for me.

As long as you are flying on an international Skyteam flight you are given lounge access plus one guest when travelling in economy.

Look there for the benifits. I'd love to help more, but I don't know what status you would be if you got a status match.
Thanks. I did spend about 20 minutes reading their web pages, but I found it confusing. They didn't specify award vs. paid tickets, and they didn't mention Delta lounge access with a Flying Blue card. Status would be plat, by the way.

Great offer.
I just registered for this status match.
As far as I understand the validity of match is the validity of card matched.
Is that right?

If I fly domestic Delta (and use my Delta FF for my flight) will I be able to use the baggage fee waiver benefit with Flying Blue Silver ( I got matched via my AA Gold)? I used to be Delta FO, but just lost it, but looking to at least get the baggage waiver.

Does anyone know the benefits a Flying Blue Gold will get on Delta? I see people talking about the baggage fee waiver, but is there anything else?
I checked the Delta site, but can't find the information.

I also checked the Platinum benefits but came away confused on the lounge access. Example - Flying from US to Korea on Korean Air...would I have lounge access for free?

I believe so, http://www.klm.com/travel/nl_en/prepare_for_travel/at_the_airport/lounges/lounge_access_policy.htm
So it appears that I would get priority boarding with Delta on US flights? That would be pretty useful to me, as I'm currently Delta silver, which only allows me to board with the first economy group.
Would I still get priority access if I use my Delta FF# on the flight? Do I just need to show the card?

I applied for this on 3-17. Received email with my number. On 3-21 I got an email about me being awarded an Ivory status. On 3-22 today I received email that I have been upgraded to Silver (matched to my AA Gold). In the confirmation I received it said that I will receive my updated card and membership materials in few weeks. I do not plan to fly them soon but you never know when you might fly delta or AF/KLM.

Yeah, I hate feeling attached to just 1 alliance when I find cheaper flights elsewhere.

Another data point: I opened an account, then applied on the evening of March 17. I used my US Airways Chairman's Preferred Status. My notice of Ivory card appeared on the 21st. This morning, the 26th, I received notice of a Status Match to Gold. I'm happy.

Thanks for posting, I sent my AA PLT credentials on 21 March and was starting to get a little nervous. Now I'll put off panicking until March 30th.;)

I'm glad you're happy with Gold, but shouldn't it have been Platinum? That's their highest level. I just applied for my husband, using his US Airways Plat status, and I'm expecting a status match to Plat. At least, that's what their chart says it should be (assuming he gets the match at all!)

According to the chart, there isn't a line for Chairman's - the top line is "President". Interestingly, US Platinum is marked as Plat. I guess they saw Star Gold and matched me that way.
I debated the trouble of fighting for the level, and perhaps delaying the card, versus just taking Skyteam Elite+ international lounge access and preferred seating. That's what I wanted.
I haven't gotten the card yet, but my online status is Gold.

Yeah, I noticed that "President" thing too. I assumed it was just a mistake (didn't they use to call their highest level something like that?) I'd have let it go at Gold too, since the lounge access is my main interest as well.

Hi
does anyone know if this is a once in a lifetime match ?
I do not really need it this year as I am Delta Plat and UAL 1K ,
And if it screws up getting something like this in the next year or 2 then I might pass,
Any Ideas ?

If I was you I would just get the miles on your Delta SM instead.
