Flew to PBI this past weekend and was surprised that there was only beverage service on both my inbound and outbound flights, even in FC. I asked the FA about it and she said that there is no catering in PBI, and that the only thing they get there now is ice, with beverage carts being double stocked at the hubs and DCA. How long has this been going on? Is it just US with no catering at PBI, or is there no catering at PBI period. Next time I'll fly to FLL so I can at least get something more than milanos.

According to: http://www.usairways.com/travel/inflight/inflight_cafe/index.htm it appears PBI isnt on the list of In-flight Cafe airports...thats a bit odd to me, anyone have a reason for this??? If you want food I'd guess your best bet would be to head down 95 or the FL Turnpike to FLL for your next trip to South Florida...

I can remember flying in July and there was no first class catering. I think I flew last year in August, and there was food, so I don't know how long this has been going on for. I really don't know what the sitution is with the other airlines, but it would be interesting to find out.

I posted an inquiry about IFC when it was new, and it happened to also be on a flight from PBI. Sounds like what the first poster was told might be true since there's quite a bit of agreement on recent PBI flights.
How odd--you'd think that US would have a catering contract at just about any airport with significant traffic longer than Express flights (PBI serves PIT, PHL, CLT and DCA if I recall)

There is no catering available at PBI. Period.

The snack basket is considered catering, our standards are really low are they not?

I fly the route regularly, and it is inconsistent. Sometimes there's food in First, although I have no idea where it was put on the flight. The whole market is crazy. Needed a one way to Philly this coming week. $370. Checked Ft.Lauderdale, which is 40 miles (and 45 minutes) away. It was $75 on a nonstop 321, which I subsequently upgraded. Somehow, I don't think catering is the major issue in S. Florida.

Since the mentality at the Crystal Palace is that "F Class passengers are lucky they are getting anything" this does not surprise me. Probably a sign of things to come. I am shocked the snack basket has lasted so long. They probably have an empty hangar filled with Milanos.

But seriously, I spoke to a FA (who is awesome) who said that on one flight to PBI, IFC's were loaded and then offloaded in PBI. He protested because he was embarrassed that they had nothing to serve the F Class passengers all the way to DCA. They told him it was such a "short flight" that they did not need to cater it with IFC's.
