US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-FlightFund Merger) - Code share standby

I have a question regarding standby on a codeshare flight. I thought I read on this board that if you are booked on a United ticket on US metal (i.e., the DCA-BOS shuttle), then there is no 25 dollar fee to standby because you are technically on a United issued ticket.
However, when I called U and UAL last night to buy a ticket they both told me that even though it's a United ticket, you abide ny U rules, so the fee applies. Has anyone dealt with this at the airport?
I will book it on UAL anyway because the ticket is cheaper, but I jsut wanted to know if I could standby for free (on a restricted V ticket)...
Thanks!
Also, as an aside, I am booked on the 2PM CLT-LAS on Oct. 4th and 2PM SAN-PIT on the 12th. Computer says lunch. anyone done this flight lately? Is it IFC, or the regular lunch? What are the choices these days?

Assuming you are asking about meal service in first, it will be regular lunch, not IFC. On transcon flights (PHX, LAS, SAN, LAX, SFO, SEA) IFC is only offered in first class if your flight departs after 730pm. Any flight prior to this features the usual first class offering. Lunch is usually a soup/sandwich or soup/salad choice.
If you are asking about meal service in coach, it will be IFC, regardless of flight time.

I would definitely do it at the airport. If they give you static tell the GA to read the blasted fare rules!!
If it is on a UA ticket---no stand-by fee. take a copy of the fare rules and hold your ground

Ok. As long as we are on the topic of codeshare policies... I'm getting ready to buy ticket on UA and fly most US since it's cheaper on UA ticket than on US. We got the standby fee question resolved... Now more questions...
What about upgrades on US metal, UA ticket? As a SP, does the 1 day window apply or is it gate upgrade? Also, can US e-upgrades be used? What about paper SWU's for that matter?

A "Mileage Run"... is that what they're called? I've been doing them for years and didn't know they had a name.

If you buy a UA ticket on US metal and are using your US DM number you can upgrade at the airport. I have not done it, but this has been the concensus at the US forum. I don't think it matters whether it is an e-upgrade or a SWU.
Someone who has actually done it may want to comment

As covered in many threads you'll be able to find in the search, the upgrades have to come from the airline that has the metal, and can only be done day of at the airport. No advance window.
For more info, check into some of the other threads talking about upgrades on UA. Same rules apply.
