US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-FlightFund Merger) - "X" seat availability on a US Express EYW to TPA in March 2004?

Hello everyone!
I'm currently going from EYW to TPA on the 345pm flight on 3/23/2004.
I wanted to go on the 1215pm flight but they don't have any "X" seats available.
I'm traveling on a UA Domestic FC 40,000 mile award from SFO-EYW.
Do you know what the likelihood of this flight opening up beforehand?
And are there any other websites that would display the "X" availability for this flight without having to use the USAir website.
Thanks for the info!

Relatively close to zero chance of award seats opening up. Spring break and vacation time in Florida. Some express destinations seldom, if ever, have award inventory.
We have not found anyplace that shows X inventory.
Edited due to operator error (twice).

You can confirm a ticket and see if they will waitlist you for the TPA-EYW. March is still a prime time to go to Key West so you may have some trouble with capacity.
If I remember correctly, there MAY be a few USAirways express flights from MIA-EYW. Check that out, there may be availability there.
OR fly to Miami and drive to Key West. Not the quickest trip in the world but it is somewhat scenic

Thanks everyone for the quick replies!
Taking the later flight is not that bad, I just wanted to leave a little earlier so I get into SF earlier in the evening.
The 9am and 10am flights are open but I just don't like to get up that early to catch a flight....I like taking my time in the morning. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
The EYW-MIA flights are only in the morning http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif
I'll just go ahead and ticket on the 345pm flight. (25min connection though in TPA...but, from what I've heard here, I should be fine with that amount of time.)
Overall I should be greatful that the award seats are even available.
I tried CO, NW, DL and none of them had ANY seats, either First or Coach, during that week. They only had the "rule buster" or the 40,000/50,000 coach award available. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif
Just wanted to add: I tried that drive from MIA to EYW before and it's a tad loooong for me especially after flying overnight the night before and that I'll be driving all by myself. I'd rather just get there as soon as I can. (Besides, it's a pain to have a car in Key West, I usually just walk around or rent a bike.) Thanks for the suggestion though! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

For preferred members, if you ask, they will usually call over to inventory for you and open up some seats in X. Not something they advertise, but they will usually do it upon request.

It seems as if you are on US Exp, operated by Air Midwest, and will be flying on the Beechcraft. Air Midwest has a slightly different agreement with US than the other Exp carriers. US has little control over AMW's inventory, AMW decides how many seats to give for each fare bucket. US takes a small booking fee, but other than that, the revenue goes to AMW. If a flight goes out empty, AMW looses money, not US. For this reason, you are unlikely to find that more X seats will become available, as this would mean more lost revenue for AMW. Also, US would not be able to open up a seat for you, they would need to get permission from AMW. I would just stick to the flight you have now, because I don't think that the options will get any better.
