US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-FlightFund Merger) - Double Miles question

For the promotion for double miles that also count double for preferred (promo 9631)...
Do UA tickets flown on US metal count towards this, or do they have to be explicitly US metal on US ticket? I know US ticket on UA metal doesn't double.
I'm looking for some upcoming flights around the end of this promo and I'm covering some pricing options where UA is cheaper yet I can fly US metal.

A "Mileage Run"... is that what they're called? I've been doing them for years and didn't know they had a name.

The flights usually post as the operating carrier's flight number (at least that's how US codeshare flights operated by UA metal posted to my acct). So in your case you should be fine as long as it's US metal. But I could be wrong, you might want to double check with the DMSC.

Mine have in the past.
However, I have heard that if you fly US metal on a UA ticket and the UA ticket has UA flight numbers rather than US flight numbers it won't work. Not sure about that though.
What I can tell you is that if you do fly on US metal with a UA ticket that lists normal US flight numbers, the double miles for prefered post to your account.

I think that all miles earned on US operated flights should count, regardless of how the flight is marketed (UA flight or US flight). Once, the bonus miles did not post automatically, but a quick email to the DM service center and the problem was fixed. The only thing that does not count for double miles are UA operated flights.
