When flying on a UA ticket, do SP's still get a 50% bonus on miles? If so, does it happen only on US metal, or also on UA? (i.e. the 500 min still becomes 750)?

I'm looking at an upcoming trip, and UA is pricing significantly cheaper than US, but I want to fly US metal if possible. (For those interested, trying to fly to LAS out of any of CRW, ROA, GSO, RDU, TRI, etc. Nov 15-17.)

A "Mileage Run"... is that what they're called? I've been doing them for years and didn't know they had a name.

I've been flying UA metal from MSY to LAX and back almost every week on my US DM #. Everytime the bonus has been applied (50% for SP, 100% for GP and now CP). I just made CP several weeks ago flying 95% of the time on UA (if it wasn't for E+ on UA I'd probably have gone crazy months ago). I wish they'd extend eligibility for the recent 2x bonus that US had, on US metal of course, to US members on UA, but you know what they say about wishing. Come to think of it, what do they say, really?

My mom used to say, "Wish in one hand, (substitute other word for poop) in the other, and see what you get first."

Yes, you will still earn your preferred bonus and the miles will count toward preferred qualification. However, I don't think that the miles you earn on UA count toward e-upgrade accrual.
