Have an award reservation made via NH for flights wholly on TG. I have the TG record locator and have confirmed all my details with TG via phone. However, when I try to view my booking on the TG website , using the TG record locator, it is not recognized.

Nothing is simple with TG... TG uses Amadeus as its Res system, but is hosted in a quite outdated mainframe named 'Royal'. IIRC you need to know your Royal PNR number to be able to retrieve a reservation on TG site. To get this number go to www.checkmytrip.com and enter Amadeus number (the one you have received from ANA). Your Royal PNR number will be there - listed as airline reservation number (next to each segment). You will now be able to retrieve your reservation via TG site (or order your F-class meal, if applicable).

I'm in a similar situation. I have an award trip made through CO with a couple legs on TG, and I was just talking to them today and was told that even though I have my TG number I can't use it on their site!
I tried the site TPJ mentioned with my CO locator number and the one TG gave me and couldn't get it to work...does CO use a different booking system? Does anyone know any other sites where I can look up info booked with CO?

Yes CO uses EDS/HP Shares, www.checkmytrip.com works only for Amadeus.

I used *A miles recently to book F with TG. I got the 6-digit TG booking code and used together with my surname to check the booking on the TG website. No problem and was able to select meal options (though, oddly, not change assigned seats).

Hi,
When I logged in, I could only get the flight information (i.e. date / time, flight number, aircraft, class, confirmed ). But no seat information.
I went to this web-site https://m.thaiairways.com/AMB_RES/e71/app/myBooking_login.jsp?chkAccpt=y
Could you please let me how could I check the assigned seat information?

For the check my booking you may find you have two numbers, one is THAI and the other is Amadeus. For the on line checkin you need the TG # only. If all else fails, a call to your local THAI airways office will get you the answers.

But how? I tried going to LH's web-site and go to "My booking summary".
When I enter my Thai booking reference (note: not amadeus code) and my last name, I get the information "We are unable to find this confirmation number. Please validate your entry and try again or contact us for further information (8104 - 1929)".
Or does this only work with Amadeus code on LH's web-site?
Appreciate your kind advice.

LH site works with Amadeus code and it always worked for me. It even worked for LX which many purist on M&M forum say does not work (they say it seem to be working, but does not pass to LX - I confirmed directly with LX, that indeed it did pass to LX).

Actually you said you tried the Thai PNR and not the amadeus PNR, you did not say that you did not have an amadeus PNR. Since you don't have it, simply call or email your local Thai office, they will assign a seat for you.
cheers

You still have to use the old-fashioned way of calling your local TG office to select seats. Use the online booking engine beforehand to get an idea of what seats are available.

I just checked and my upcoming trip HBA-SYD(QF)-BKK(TG)-ZRH-MXP(LX)||MUC-ZRH-JFK(LX)-SYD(UA) and LH shows all flights, including QF and I was able to asssign seats for all but QF and UA via LH site. QF is on different ticket (but same PNR) and UA seating was done on UA's website.

Both LH and QF use Amadeus, so you should be able to view QF segments via Lufti site. IIRC QF allows for advance seat assignment only for C pax and for oneWorld elites - double check at QF site (Lufti Amadeus PNR number will also work on QF site).

Yeah, I know this. QF sucks and I used to fly it as a feeder because they checked through luggage even on different PNRs and tickets. That has stopped now, so no more flying QF. This one was purchased loong time ago.

Unfortunately, I nor those who actually pay cannot justify paying as much as double for my regular C class trips to Europe. Generally, I can fly SYD-Europe on SQ/LH for less than A$6000.
The trip I mentioned earlier (privately paid) was A$6100 (all inclusive) in C. The only sector that does not have fully flat seats is SYD-BKK. Can you get that with QF? I do not think so, or at least I was not able to get even close in tha past 10 years where I did 4-5 AU-EU trips per year.

yes you can - you need to book ex-Europe not ex-Australia. Book europe to australia return trips and you will save a lot of money. if you were travelling 4 to 5 times a year this should work well.

I also have issues. I have three TG flights on my wife's trip to Sri Lanka made using a CO award. When I called Continental, the reservations agent was able to provide me with the confirmation numbers for the other carriers on the PNR (UA, AN, AC) but not TG. TG's US reservations number is closed on weekends . Is there anyway to find the TG confirmation number without calling them?

You will either have to ask CO for the TG booking reference (ask for a supervisor to assist, if necessary) or TG directly.

We booked BKK to HKT in J on the Thai website.
I have tried all the suggestions above, but cannot see any seatmaps or make any seat requests online.
I have also tried, without success, to find out from the Thai website whether or not this is possible.
Any suggestions ?

with the AMADEUS booking reference, go to http://www.lufthansa.com and head to 'manage my booking'. There you will be able to submit seat and special meal requests.

I'm booked in X on TG using CO miles for the award ticket. One person in the party was given a seat assignment, but I was not. I have the CO confirmation # but not the TG number. I entered the CO number in the LH cite and on checkmytrip.com but neither site can find the reservation.
Any tips for how I can assign seats?
Thanks,

Just give their US call center a call (Toll Free Number: (800) 426-5204), and they'll be able to do it for you fairly quickly.
You'll likely have another TG confirmation code, which you can also ask for when you call.

I write the TG office in my country (the US office is laxreservation@thaiairwaysusa.com) when I need a TG seat assignment. They should be able to find it with your name, flight info and ticket number.
