Flights are ok value, 30/60k Y/F from CONUS to HNL...AS is the same but you have to do one stop in SEA/PDX. 10k for interisland isn't TOO shabby. 70k for ICN/SYD is too much though, especially when you consider that they're still flying the 767 there.

Very typical. Only a few booking classes on ICN-Hawaii are eligible to get miles, so that KE's flights wouldn't lose any passengers. Other routes are very liberal though. On redemption, it requires same miles (70k) as what is needed for KE awards.

Well considering KE's thrown in a 747 after HA opened up HNL-ICN...they have to make we don't want to fly HA even more ;)And we're all used to KE's myriad of booking classes eh?
And yeah, I would rather take KE to ICN or SYD...especially if I spend the same amount of miles

Weird, the announcement disappeared from their website and HA's not showing up on the "Redeem Miles/Partner Airlines" part of KE's website  but AS and EK are still there...

I did a dry booking SAN-HNL a week ago(HA, August 18,2011) and the awesome Skypass Ladies saw availability on it though
