Africa - Looking for a cheap flight from YYC to MRU

Not sure what is the best forum to post this in, but what is the best way to get deals to MRU?

Travel dates: July 8 - 29.

Current best price $2350 CAD using AC and MK. I would prefer sticking to *A to use my status, but ultimately wins.

I would go for a combo of AC and EK, using AC either to YYZ or FRA, then EK.

I'm planning on doing a multi-city including MRU next year, using EK mostly.

wow.. that is expensive.

I paid $770 all in from NYC in January on SAA, I dont really think I would pay any more to go to Mauritius. .... its overhyped anyway.

See if maybe you can get a deal with SAA from IAD/JFK, and buy a seperate ticket there.

Yikes, that really is a good price. We just cannot get that here, since we are such a smaller market and nefarious efforts of the Star Alliance.

I always find lower cost international flight outside the Canadian border.

For MRU look to fly out of a US east coast gateway(JFK IAD BOS EWR or even ORD, DTW ATL), or YUL/YYZ if you do not want to transit via US. Sometimes two separate tickets might end up cheaper.
