US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-FlightFund Merger) - Can you wait-list a UA award?

Is it possible to wait-list a UA award booked using US miles for a higher class of service? It looks like there are seats available for award redemption in Y, but not in C - is it possible to wait-list for C?

You can book a C award, book Y seats and waitlist C seats, but if nothing clears, you'll still have to use the C class award mileage or pay the redeposit fee. If even one segment clears, however, you're stuck with the C award, even if nothing else does.

Actually, I'm not positive if you can book a C award if there's NO open segment in C. Did you call and ask international award desk?
