Los Angeles - LAX restrooms have mirrors covered and towel dispensers out of service?

We were in LAX USair terminal, gates 1-14, and all the restrooms had the mirrors taped over with foam padding, and the towel dispensers marked Out of Service.

Any ideas as to why?

Considering it is LAX, I would say a Dracula convention is in town.

LAX is pretty lax, when it comes to making sure everything's upkept. IMO, the airport I do not want to layover.. but don't mind if we're visiting SoCal.. so long as we're not in the airport too long.

And it's terminal 1, a terminal I don't like hanging around. :)

Membership in either the continental or united clubs allow me access to the US Air club in terminal 1 at LAX when I am flying on Southwest. That terminal is ghetto. But at least with Southwest, you get what you pay for. A cheap flight with cheap amenities.
