US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-FlightFund Merger) - No more video on US?

I flew DEN-CLT and back this past weekend on a 319 and didn't get a movie (2H 36M flight) I asked the FA whether there was normally a movie on flights of that length. She said that as of Aug 1 they quit boarding movies on a bunch of routes and suggested that I send a letter to US asking them to bring back the movies. This seems a bit strange as the earlier thread in this forum regarding headphone usage policies. It sounds like the headphone policy will really only apply to transcons.
Movies are on flights to SAN, LAX, LAS, PHX, SFO, SEA. Pretty much anything in the Pacific time zone. I've not seen a movie on a 2hr 36 min flight in a LONG time. PHL-DFW is closer to 3 and even before 9/11, I never saw movies on that route.

I fly PHL-DFW-PHL quite a bit, and the flight times are around 3 hrs each way (depending on winds, time of day, and air traffic). There is NO video, no audio, no entertainment of any kind (unless you consider the half-hearted sales pitch of the FA's for the in-flight meals entertainment).
I'm seriously considering buying a portable DVD or getting a DVD unit for my laptop....
I took my first United flight ever about 2 weeks ago, a fairly short hop IND-DEN, and there was a full slate of short subjects on seat-back video -- and boy do I *love* channel 9!

The Flight Attendant seemed to think that they just reduced the routes with entertainment as of August 1. That was the only reason for my post.

I flew DEN-CLT in late May, and there was no movie, or anything other than drinks and the snack basket in F. CLT-DEN did however have a movie, plus a snack in F.
