I know that the shuttle youth tickets are restricted to off peak times (10:00am-2:00pm and 7:00am-9:00pm. I used to be able to use the tickets during peak times on a standby basis. However, I have not flown on the shuttle since the summer of 2001. Can someone who has recent familiarity with shuttle rules please let me know if it is still possible to standby during peak times? Also is it still possible to use US youth tickets on DL?
I have done a search for this topic but come up with no information.
I have cross posted this in the DL forum as well.
Thanks in advance.

Largely after the August 2002 changes promulgated by Ben Baldanza, the shuttle has taken a draconian approach to fare rules at all three stations. This is from first hand observation, as well as accounts from others. Whenever a pax inquires about taking another flight the response is "it depends on what kind of ticket you have," even before the agent checks anything. DCA is the strictest station. I won't say waivers never happen, but they are much rarer than in the good old days.
DL will honor US shuttle tickets. You may actually find DL is less strict. I was flying on these kinds of tix each week and US went by the time rules, and each time DL let me go whenever I wanted on the time restricted US youth pack tickets. So US lost the revenue because they weren't flexible, and let a competetor take the money. The whole thing was very amusingly ironic about DL taking the US ticket, and waiving rules US wouldn't waive.
