My experience in upgrading to Envoy for flights to Manchester show that space is usually available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays in both directions. That's when everyone in my group was able to upgrade with certificates without problem, and there were even some vacancies in the cabin.

But I'm thinking of taking the flight to LGW for the first time in February and am wondering if, because London is a more popular destination, that midweek success rates are not necessarily the case like they are to Manchester.

Can anyone pass along some insight?

Thanks!

If it's just you (a CP), I wouldn't worry about it ... I've never missed an upgrade as a Gold on a flight to or from LGW, and those were usually peak flights (weekends) that I was taking.

I flew to LGW in February on a Wed night, and there were 3 or 4 seats open in Envoy. I had booked my flight about 5 weeks in advance, and the ticketing agent told me at that point they had only sold 6 seats. I don't think you have much to worry about.

Thanks. This is good news. I'll be traveling myself (CP) with at least two Golds and one Silver. But I can always make the Silver my companion to improve his window from 1 day to 7 days.

Forgot to mention a couple of things:

Outbound to LGW there were a bunch of non-revs in Envoy.

My return was on a Monday. The upgrade cleared at the gate, but once again there were at least 3 or 4 empty seats, and I saw at least 2 FA's sitting in Envoy.
