US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-FlightFund Merger) - US E-upgrades with UA upgrades & US transatlantic upgrades

Can 4 US E-upgrades be used in conjunction with a UA 1,000 mile paper certificate upgrade, in essence upgrading a 3,000 mile flight?

In regard to the 2 transatlantic upgrades that are included in the gold US kit, can/have others used them successfully even with someone elses name printed on them? I know they say non-transferrable, but many times that hasn't stopped others from using other people's certificates.

Thanks for any help.

As for combining US and UA upgardes - no.

And, as for the non-transferable aspect of US's transatlantic upgrades, they are very careful about that. I give you between a 0 and 2% chance of getting away with it.

Please correct me if I'm mistaken, but I thought you could not use US transatlantic upgrade certs (i.e. DMUTA3) on upgradeable UA flights--only on US.

A year ago it was possible that they would not catch or care about the name on the upgrade. Today is a different story.

Have seen at least one person get shot down by a GA trying to use someone else's coupons. Embarrassing at best.

I was reading on the US site that certain paper upgrades can be converted into E-upgrades. Can the DMUTA3 upgrade certificates be converted into E-upgrades?

I saw CAB747's post as two separate questions since the e-upgrades only apply to domestic flights.

You are correct in that the US transatlantic certs may only be used by the Preferred member whose name is on the cert AND that they are good only on flights operated by US.
