I usually book flights via airline website, however, I've seen a fare on Orbitz from DUB-ICN on 18th March with LH and would like to book it. However, I'm weary of not accruing miles as I cant see the booking code. How do I find out if I can avail of them towards my TG ROP account etc??

Thanks & Regards.

Can you replicate the booking / price on the LH website?

good question!

I just checked LH website and you can get it at Q & V codes for that price (o/w). It says I would get 6,000 miles if using miles & more, but when I check Thai it seems Q&V are low class economy and dont offer mileage accrual. any insights offered? Ta:-)

Orbitz shows you the complete fare rules before purchase. After you select your flights, enter the pax name and get to the step: "Traveler Information" you need to scroll down and click on the link in "See an overview of all the rules and restrictions applicable for this fare." here you will be shown the complete fare rules including the fare basis used. Cross reference that to ROP and you're set.

Actually, my TG ROP information says the Q S V W codes get no mileage "when purchased as a Lufthansa marketing ticket and operated by Thai." I wouldn't necessarily assume the same interpretation applies to the same booking codes on LH-operated flights. Why don't you call ROP Customer Service (in Bangkok if you have nobody locally knowledgeable) and get clarification, before you make a firm booking?

There was a short note in the latest issue of the ROP magazine:
http://www.thaiair.com/frequent-flyer/download/News-Mar-May11-En.pdf

When purchasing a ticket for a flight that is codeshared between Star Alliance airlines, please note the following on booking classes and mileage accrual.

An eligible booking class for mileage accrual on a ticket issued by the selling airline may not be eligible for accrual by Royal Orchid Plus members if the flight is operated by another Star Alliance carrier, particularly
on discounted Economy Class fares.

If miles are important to you, in this case it is advisable to purchase the ticket from the operating airline when possible, or purchase a fare that is not discounted. For booking classes on flights operated by each Star Alliance airline that are not eligible for miles or earn partial miles please visit www.thaiairways.com/rop at Earning Miles
