The 10,000 miles for a BOA platinum visa, combined with the decreasing probability of US Airways being liquidated, recently convinced me to apply for their card. I received the card, made my first purchase and today received 7,000 miles. Should I expect the other 3,000 miles to post later, or do I need to contact them? What has other people's experience been regarding this promotion?

Are you sure you get 10k and not 7k? I thought 7k was the tops for Plat.

Did you receive your companion tickets as of yet? I received the club pass, but no companion offer. Found that odd.

7K was the max award for the BOA platinum card, but about a month ago, they upped the ante to 10K in a special promo.

I signed up for the card to take advantage of the promo, but I too was only given 7K miles. I'm trying to figure out who to contact to correct this.

Yep, you guys are right. I just sent an email to CS to ask how to get the remaining 3,000 and the companion tickets.

If I recall correctly, the $99 companion ticket voucher is mailed with the December or January statement, and is only applicable for ticket purchases of $350+. Reservations have to be made by June 30, but I can't remember by when travel has to be completed.

The club pass is mailed with the June statement, which explains why you received the club pass and not the companion voucher.

The details of when each thing is mailed is in small print somewhere, but they are definitely not sent the same month. I received the USAir club pass with my June statement.. and recall the same thing about the December mailing of the $99 companion voucher.

The whole goal being that you keep the card for the year.. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Just got an email back from US saying that all questions must be directed to a 1-800 number through BOA. I think this is going to be a real pain in the *#$, but I will let yall know.

I decided to call US Air (using the Silver preferred line) and ask for the missing 3000 miles. They briefly looked at my account and then said, yes, I had been shortchanged 3000 miles and they would add them right away. They said it would take a couple days for them to post.

Today they appear to have posted. I say *appear* because all of the details of my transactions for the current statement have disappeared. Calculating by hand what the total should be from my June statement seems to show that they added the 3000 miles, though, so all is well, though it is peculiar that the details of my current statement vanished.

Bottom line: instead of emailing them, try calling.

Don't panic. The "vanishing" happens every month (on a Saturday) at the statement period cutover. It was last Saturday for July. In my experience, full account detail comes back on line early the next day.
