Flew LGA-CLT-LAS on 7/3 and back LAS-PIT-LGA on 7/7 in First Class

LGA-CLT. Flight was delayed inbound, but the ground crew was fabulous turning the plane around in less than 15 minutes allowing us to leave on time. Due to the quick turnarround and wanting to leave ontime, the FA informed us they would not be providing pre-departure beverage service. Once airborne, beverage service and snack basket.

CLT-LAS. Predeparture drinks. Since it was a 9:45PM departure, no meal service, but inflight cafe given free for First. Had the sandwich. nothing to brag about. Snack basket came around and then we didn't see the FA for the rest of the flight, which had about 2 hours left (she was reading her book). Nothing special, especially for First class.

LAS-PIT on 7/7. Morning flight. Had predeparture drinks. Then the FA came around and introduced himself to us. Surprisingly we had a hot breakfast in F. First course was fruit and a warm blueberry muffin. Second course was a choice of Omlette, French Toast or cereal. Smaller portions than in the past, but much better than what people were paying $7 in coach for. Came by about 3 or 4 more times refilling drinks and passing out the snakc basket. Certificate given to this outstanding FA. Plasticware has to go in F though.

PIT-LGA. Pilot announced the flight was going to be very bumpy (which it was) and that he was instructing the crew to remain seated during the flight. Had the predeparture drink though, and the FA passed the snack basket around prior to departure as she would not be able to get up during the flight. Can't complain, as safety comes first.

Overall, better experience on the return than the outbound.

BTW, all flights 100% full.

I have an RDU-LAS leg coming up that should be upgraded, so I'll add onto here in a few weeks.

Currently the flights going through LAS on my travel days are 90-100% full in Y but sparse in F even though I'm traveling mid-week.

F was completely full, but then again it was a holiday weekend.

I want to book a RDU-LAS flight for this weekend, any suggestions on getting a good fare?

A little more seriously, if you really want to go that's about the perfect situation for using a Premium Coach award ...

Yea, i was thinking about doing just that, but i figured if i could get one at a decent rate, i would rather accrue the miles, turn a fun weekend into a mileage run as well

Looks like fares just dropped to $238 RT RDU-LAS with no advance on ticket dates.

Wow...I was looking the other day for a friend that wanted to go with me and SWA was showing a minimum of $500 for Th/Fr -> Su travel. Almost all their discount tickets were sold out.

Even with this rate, you may find that seat availability is difficult; another coworker of mine flying CO or HP said that they're really full right now to LAS as well.

I was in the middle of checking some availability and the usair website broke. I did see seats on the 16th and no availability on the 17th/18th/19th before it broke.

From Travelocity, the only outbound days I can see in July are: 13, 15, 16, 22, 23, 29, 30.
