US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-FlightFund Merger) - Any Opinions

I am trying to fly RT DCA-CAE in Sept and can not seem to find a fare for anything less than 325, when the trip can usually be had for 200 with some patience in watching fares. However, the 325 fare has not moved in over 3 months. I am trying to decide if I should wait and see if it drops, pay the 325, or use FF miles while there is still award availability on the flights I want. All thoughts are appreciated.

Just a thought: have you considered flying DCA-CLT & then driving the extra 89 miles? Or perhaps flying UA metal (for US miles) IAD-CAE? It might be worth checking the available fares.

Thanks for the thought but unfortunately DCA-CLT is 300 for that weekend and from IAD on UA metal is the exact same 323 fare so no luck there.

You can drive it in about 7 hours. That's only 4 hours longer than if you go to DCA and screw with a commuter...and you don't have to rent a car.

Try BWI to CAE for $212. And from what I see DCA to CAE is 268 on select dates.

There's also DCA - GSP for $224, though I'd be more inclined for the BWI - CAE flight.

Driving it would be about 9 hours depending on where you start from and how much you speed. But with TSA lines and other stuff, it might still only be 4 hours longer...
