Virgin America Elevate - Crediting Virgin America flights to other airlines

Sorry if this has already been discussed. A search for the above terms didn't yield anything, but let me know if there is already a discussion.

Was wondering what your thoughts are on crediting VX flights to other airlines (Virgin America, others??).

I won't fly a ton on VX, but have ~8,000 points and will earn another 8,000 upcoming for a first class ticket from BOS-SFO. Any thoughts on better programs to credit? Not sure if I'll be able to use my Elevate points since I typically redeem for international travel.

Also, I'll have MR points to top off if needed. Any creative ideas?

Thanks, Cringle. These are partners where one can earn elevate points. I am looking to do the opposite (credit a different program when flying Virgin America). Looks like I can do the opposite here, but not sure if there are any others.

Also, has anyone done a comparison of the earn / redeem rates for these different programs? Particularly interested when earning on VX and redeeming on a different airline.

For earning on other carriers, the choices are the same.

To make sure I follow this, is it that I can only accrue miles flown on vx flights in my vx, VA or VS accounts?
