Can anyone confirm the level of service and IFE on current SJU - PHL flights on the 330? I just booked a last minute buz trip there (in full Y, so I instantly grabbed some good seats in what is otherwise called Envoy Class! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif ) and wondered what to expect. Got my fav seat ---> 3B!

I have flown US's Envoy to Europe time and again so I don't need any info on the aircraft/seats/etc, just ROUTE-SPECIFIC info on the SJU runs.

Many thanks!

The IFE is on for the flight.

There will be full meal service, but nothing like that of a transatlantic flight.

Why not try for row 1 if you're Gold?

Took this flight back to PHL in first (certainly not Envoy) yesterday. The plane was great, but it seemed that the cabin staff went far out of their way to make sure service was purely medium length domestic. They did not provide any a/v - supposedly there was an attempt to provide it but they could not make the system work. An annoyed announcement was made mid-flight that the system was inop.

Thanks for the info and tips, all. As for the above question, I had the privelege of sleeping in row 1 across the Atlantic last year and found it only okay in terms of comfort. I felt a distinct "closeness" in that row that I guess some would consider "cozy," to me it just felt a little claustrophobic. Thanks all the same. When I called US to upgrade the seats, the res agent advised that she routinely has customers who ask NOT to be seated in row one!!!

Additionally, for a daytime flight (i.e. no real sleeping involved), I would simply be less comfortable up there. Call me crazy...

I flew PHL-SJU recently and there were 3 in the Envoy cabin and 4 who were in Row 1. I enjoyed row 4. The IFE was working so that was good. Coach was packed and they moved one really big guy up front but he slept all the way. The FAs were attentive because few pax and lots of time so I felt like I was in the old FC domestic service. I could have had all the Bloody Marys I wanted but had a meeting in the afternoon so I had to cut back on the partying. First biz trip to PR and I enjoyed it even if I could not get to see the Expos in Puerto Rico due to a sellout.
