I know we've talked about this before... well at least since I joined, but can someone with insight please clarify this -
How long after you meet the 25,000 mile burden on a BOA platinum card until they post my 10,000 preferred miles.
I'm sitting at close to 90,000 and that's all that stands between me and CP...
Anybody? Thanksss

Don't you mean BOA? Or BofA? BOM is Bombay/Mumbai, where neither USAirways nor its partners fly http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

First off, realize that they’re dummies at BOA customer disservice.
Of my four email inquiries to them about my missing 10K, three form replies were essentially:
email #1. The restructuring of US Airways will not impact your miles.
email #2. Bank of America does not make travel plans. To do so, please contact US Airways at 800-428-4322.
email #3. Bank of America does not keep a balance of your Dividend Miles. To inquire about your balance, please contact US Airways.
Reply #4 (Where someone with at least reading skills received my same request:

Dear Mr. TPA US FF,
Thank you for your e-mail. Platinum customers whose net purchases
reach $25,000 or more during a calendar year will have 10,000 of their
already earned miles are applied towards their Preferred Status (i.e.
Chairman's Preferred=AE, Gold Preferred=AE, or Silver Preferred=AE). It =
does
take a least 30 to 60 days from the actual statement you reached the
$25,000.00. Our records indicate that you reached it in our last
statement sent to you on 10-07-2002. Please allow 30 to 60 days to
show in your mileage plan.
Note: In 2002customers must make $25,000 in net purchases or more
between their April 2002 & December 2002 billing statements to obtain
the 10,000 Preferred Miles benefit. Going forward, customers will have
between their January and December statement cycles to purchase at
least $25,000 to earn the 10,000 Preferred Miles benefit.
We appreciate the opportunity to assist you online. Should you have
any further inquiries, please e-mail us again.

bfunkjeep, perhaps your spending has not reached $25K in light of the shortened spending periond.

Really?
I got the miles back in the summer and while I haven't checked the math I'm pretty sure that my $25k was from January to June or possibly July. The miles showed up sometime in August -- I have a hard time thinking that I charged that much from April through June or even July.

This April to December timeframe isn't spelled out in their Terms and Agreements. It is making me mad! I know that I am very close right now to the 25k but that is caledar year, not since april.

I seem to remember the April-December timeframe was last year, when they made some changes to the DM Visa program. 2002 is the "going forward" year. I don't think this info is right.

Yes, I'm almost positive from convos with BOA and USDM that it is January to December 31... the full calendar year for this current year... the PREVIOUS year was short because they started the offer late.

When I didn't get my miles after I knew I spent more than 25k, I e-mailed BOA through their website. Within days I received the miles. Give it a try. Good luck!

When you e-mail BOA, as I have several times, they respond with an auto-form e-mail. It's the most unprofessional thing...
For what they charge for those Visa cards and what they make off them, they should be personally returning phone calls - MBNA always calls me.
But how was it from reaching 25,000 did it take from the to finally appear? Do you remember?

So, what was the resolution to this?
I'm not doing so hot on miles this year, and may very well lose gold status. My purchases look like I will hit $25,000 in October or November. So, does this mean that the 10,000 might post in January - meaning the 10,000 count towards 2004 status????

It took about one billing cycle for me to receive the 10,000 bonus status miles. July statement I hit the $25,000 mark and received the bonus status miles at the end of August. However, I did not receive any notification of receiving the status miles, just noticed that 10,000 extra status miles was adjusted to my total.

After the October 2002 statement, I reached the 25k mark. The miles showed up around November 15th on a Sunday morning! There was no indication of where they came from or even a mark on my statement - just 10,000 more preferred miles.

When I hit $25000, it was mentioned in the text of the e-mail that came with my e-statement.

I have recieved the 10,000 miles about 1 month after the 25,000 billing statement arrived in my mailbox. Each time I was also nervous and called. It does show up, but it requires your billing statement for the month to be complete, the info to be transfered from BOA to USAir, and then it is posted. This all actually makes sense, but I think that all of us on this site are anxious about our tier miles.

I just got mine about one month after the end of the billing cycle where I crossed the magic line. So it looks like the consensus is about a month (unless they screw up and don't do it at all).
