My mother has Hilton HHonors Diamond Elite Status, would I be able to book a paid hotel reservation with her HHonors number and her status, seeing as I'm family? Or is it strictly on an individual basis? Thanks!

Granted, I've only done it twice, but the individual checking in did not have an issue. I simply listed both names on the reservation. Perhaps it was because the hotel ee's knew me well. YMMV. travelinfoo Feb 28, 11, 5:24 pm If you are making a reservation under her name/number, even if your name is on it, without her also checking in, you are in violation of HHonors T&C. The status is individual (except for those with grandfathered mutual accounts). So it is for the person who EARNED it, not for general family use. somethinpositiv Feb 28, 11, 11:09 pm alright, thanks for your responses! cordelli Mar 1, 11, 9:54 am There have been tons of threads on this and what it comes down to is pretty much this. It may work, but according to the terms, the benefits are for an individual, and the individual has to be there. Despite the people who will say it never happens, there are some hotels that will not award benefits unless the person whose account is being used stops by to show they are there (I know of two where I have had to swing by the desk when I got there after my wife has checked in). You can try it, but don't be upset if it doesn't work. By the way, Hilton doesn't care who pays for the room, they only care that the member's name is on the reservation, and they are in the room. |
