US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-2005 America West merger) - Will US extend Triple Shuttle Miles?

It's getting close to the end, folks (6/30/03) and no renewal announcement in sight. My bet is that they won't renew as the airline's out of Ch 11 and Delta's not doing any promos. Rumors are that they are further cutting capacity as well.
Any other perspectives?

I don't see it happening.
Little Dave the Liar (tm--after all, Gordo is "his mentor") will scale back the shuttle operation--first to ratty 737s, and then to the EMB-170s when they arrive. In fact, he's publically dissed DL for ramping back up to hourly service all day (because US has to match).
I'd say that further promos are not forthcoming. I've been wrong before.

Speculation from my part and reading the USAviation web site, it sounds like they're going to redeploy the standby aircraft and start actually flying them to reduce costs in the shuttle market. With that in place, I doubt you'll see the same type of guarantee/bonus. But they have said that this promotion is very popular with their customers. So I predict either we'll see the same promotion for 3 more months or another promotion that's different, taking into account that the 'standby aircraft' is no longer there.

Well, they just lost me. Bought a ticket on DL for next week. At least there I'm guaranteed my GM bonus, along with CC, website and kiosk miles.
Sorry US... that's the way it goes. You know I have a choice of carriers...

Amtrak recently just cut there acela prices again now the max is $99 each way to bos for business class and $50 more for F this is gonna put more pressure on the shuttle.

I can see it already... airline executives crying foul about how Amtrak, a Government-subsidized enterprise, is selling at a loss to gain market share.
Gotta love the irony! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/rolleyes.gif
